Nestled in the welcoming context of Harewood Park, this community skatepark boasts all a skater could want. Street style plaza terrain complimented by one of the few true-to form pools on the island. Flat bars, slappy ledges, stairs, banks manual pads and a variety of ledges, there really isn’t much that Harewood doesn’t have. The skatepark also features Coast Salish artwork integrated as part of the overall design. Snuneymuxw artist Joel Good, known for his carving and graphic illustration, teamed up with Bracken Hanuse Corlett, an interdisciplinary artist hailing from the Wuikinuxv and Klahoose Nations, to create artwork for the park. Their work was painted onto the concrete surface of the new park as soon as the freshly poured concrete was cured.
