SITE SELECTION AND DESIGN CONSULTING – In 2013, the City of Calgary retained the team of New Line Skateparks and van der Zalm + associates to oversee the first phase of implementation of the City of Calgary Skateparks Amenities Strategy SAS (also developed by New Line / van der zalm). Specifically, this entailed the site selection and design of 8 diverse custom concrete skatepark facilities spread throughout the city. This is one of the most ambitious municipal skatepark development exercises in North America – with 5 out of 8 projects now delivered. 3 additional parks are slated to be released for construction prior to 2019.
